Supporting Healthy Relationships in Travis County
"Men as Allies" - Educating the Community
As a member of the Austin/Travis County Family Violence Task Force, CN5 is dedicated to domestic violence awareness
and education in our community. This year, in partnership with the Austin/Travis County Family Violence Task Force, Constable Lopez is
co-chairing "Men as Allies." With this group, he is focusing on education and awareness for men
in our community. There are many resources and outreach for women; this is the perfect opportunity
to get more men involved.
#RealMenHaveCourage
In 2016, the campaign kicked off at the Travis County Sheriff's "Football is a Contact Sport, Love Shouldn't Be" press event at House Park. During the event Constable Lopez talked about the five Core Values that the Men as Allies group would be promoting.
Our mission is to provide public education and promote healthy relationships.
Men should have the courage to:
1. Protect people who are vulnerable
2. Build healthy relationships
3. Be accountable
4. Trust and support one another
5. Speak up, it will matter!
