Attorney General Greg Abbott and Travis County Constable Pct. 5 Crack Down on Parents Who Fail to Pay Child Support


September 30, 2014 - Austin, Texas

The office of Travis County Constable Carlos B. Lopez conducted a county-wide child support warrant roundup September 20-27, 2014.

The constable's office started early Saturday morning to get a head start and maximize the opportunity to find people at home. As of Saturday the 27th, 50 people had been arrested and 48 child support warrants had been cleared totaling over $1,005,000. The individual arrearage amounts owed of those arrested ranged from $672 to over $77,000. Once someone had been arrested, they could be released by the judge or through a cash bond.
