Constable’s Update

As the leaves begin to turn and the weather turns cooler, as much as it can
here in Texas, I want to take a moment to wish everyone a happy and healthy
fall season from all of us here at Constable Precinct 5.

It’s been a busy time for our office. We've been responding to a record number of
evictions, and with recent changes in state law, we are preparing for an expected
increase in squatter-related property removal cases. The new legislation now requires
constables to remove individuals illegally trespassing on private property, and our office
is working diligently to respond with professionalism, fairness, and efficiency.

We were also proud to host another successful National Night Out at Wooten Park. A
heartfelt thank you to APD Chief Lisa Davis and AFD Chief Joel Baker for taking the
time to join us. It's always encouraging to see our first responder leadership out in the
community, building trust and relationships with the people we serve.

Our commitment to community continues through programs like Silver Watch, where we
regularly check in on elderly residents in our precinct. Amid ongoing budget cuts, we’re
working hard to ensure our clients have the food, fans, and basic necessities they need,
while also making sure they feel safe, seen, and supported.

Thank you for your continued trust in our office. We are honored to serve Travis County
and remain committed to keeping our community safe, supported, and informed.
